Maybe It's Just Me

Maybe It's Just Me

I watched as much as I could stomach of the now infamous John McCain lime green, "I'm not W and Obama is not experienced enough" speech.

John McCain has always been an enjoyable guest on Jon Stewart and I've seen him on a number of other shows and thought he did well enough although no one could call him eloquent or awe inspiring.

In the Kenner speech though there was something I noticed for the first time.

He's creepy.

He'd make a semi-point and while he was waiting for applause a sick grin that could best be described as lecherous would come across his face and he'd begin making these odd noises, which I can only assume were attempts at laughs.

He reminded me of a perverted version of the Cryptkeeper from Tales from the Crypt.

It's not his age, because I believe that while he has lost (or abandoned) his moral and personal compass, he still seems to have his wits about him but the expressions and the giggles were more than I could bear.

While it is not W's smirk or perplexed look, it definitely is not presidential.

But then again, over the last 8 years we have lowered our standards to such a degree that maybe the lecherous look is okay with the masses.

  • I noticed a few of the same things in the same speech. I also noticed that the man blinks one hell of a lot. This may not be giving the American people enough credit, but I think John McCain's creepiness will be the ultimate deciding factor in swinging the election to Obama. Or, by another way of putting it, more Americans would like to have a beer with Obama than McCain. His wife scares me too, by the way, but I'm sure she's a real nice lady.
