The Future of America

The Future of America

As most people who read this blog know, it's more fun and entertaining for me to poke fun at the Repugs but even I get tired of that occasionally so this entry is going to be a little different.

I'm sure everybody knows that the Democratic National Convention is almost over, just the big speech from Obama tonight remains to cap off what has been an extremely satisfying week.

The televised speeches, with possibly one exception (unfortunately the keynote) were nothing short of phenomenal. The Clintons laid to rest the fears of most Democrats and Joe Biden and his Beau were phenomenal.

While several shots were taken at the Republicans I thought overall the theme was much more upbeat than what I expect from the RNC next week.

What was truly amazing is that the DNC really reflected the themes of the campaign...hope and a brighter future. (There were the McCain = the Same posters, but that's another story).

This election, perhaps more than any other, is about the future. We know what will happen if we continue on the same course, or at least we have a good indication. The Obama-Biden team offers a different direction and one I think is much brighter and one I can envision for my kids.

This is probably the last blog entry I will be able to make in a hopeful tone becuase it is about to get nasty in the political arena.

And it's time for all of us to join the fight.
